The “cleansing of the ranks” will begin: Zhdanov on the consequences of Prigozhin’s rebellion

Military expert Oleg Zhdanov spoke about the consequences of Prigozhin’s mutiny for the Russian Federation.

He told this in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua.

According to Zhdanov, now Russia will begin “purging the ranks”.

“By the way, they began to destroy Wagner himself very quickly. He was arrested in Syria, in Russia. There are even detained military personnel. These generals, whose names will now be published, the FSB will 100 percent detain and interrogate their involvement,” says the expert.

Zhdanov does not rule out that such searches for “enemies of the people” could be a trigger for a second attempt at rebellion.

“But if there is a second attempt, it will be a real one. In my opinion, they will not stop… Two spiders in one jar – someone has to eat someone. The litmus will be Shoigu. If he is removed, then Putin has made concessions, if they don’t remove it, there will be a second attempt. Since he didn’t remove it, it means he didn’t compromise. So he will take revenge. Those people who may be subject to revenge will be forced to speed up the second attempt,” the expert concluded.

Earlier, Russian Telegram channels reported that General Serhiy Surovikin had been sent to a pre-trial detention center.

According to CNN, the Russian special services may have known about Prigozhin’s mutiny and were expecting its success.
