The debate on the prohibition of the use of Russian symbols on the days of remembrance on May 8 and 9 in Berlin are entering a new phase after the administrative court allowed the use of Russian flags after Ukrainian flags.
The Berlin police said they will appeal the decision, the portal informs RBB24.
The police reported that the administrative court of Berlin allowed the use of Russian symbols on May 8 and 9, when the days of remembrance of those who died during the Second World War take place. We are talking about events planned for May 9 – June 17.
Because of this, the police filed a complaint with the High Administrative Court against this decision. The decision of the next instance is expected on the same day.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that the authorities of Berlin introduced a ban on demonstration of Russian and Ukrainian flags near Soviet memorials on May 8 and 9 in Treptov, Tiergarten and Schönholzer Heide.
After the appeal of such a decision by Ukrainian activists, the administrative court of Berlin on May 6 canceled the ban on placing Ukrainian flags.
