The Armed Forces spoke about the insidious tactics of the Russians during the night attack

On the night of Tuesday, July 18, the aggressor Russia attacked the south of Ukraine – Odesa and Mykolaiv regions – with Iranian drones and Kalibr missiles. The Russians attacked with drones in several waves.

According to Humenyuk, the Russian army has been preparing for such tactics for a long time. In turn, the Armed Forces were watching the intentions of the Russians and were ready for it.

“The feature (of the attacks – Ed.) was that they launched several waves of Shahed to detect, wear out the air defense system and then hit with missiles. They had this tactic for a long period of time. We watched them pick it up for a long time, and were ready for this,” Humenyuk noted.

Humenyuk emphasized that the Russian “Calibers” were aimed purely at the Odesa region. Probably, the occupiers tried to strike the port infrastructure of the city.

We will remind, after midnight in a number of regions of Ukraine, an air alert was announced. Air Force warned Ukrainians about the threat of a combined attack by the Russian Federation: both drones and missiles.

In the morning of July 18 the Armed Forces told about the destroyed drones and missiles during the night strike of the Russian Federation. It was reported that the invaders attacked from the south with six Kalibr cruise missiles and 36 Shahed attack drones. Air defense forces destroyed 38 air targets.
