On October 8, the 100th anniversary of the Semyonov matryoshka will be celebrated in the Nizhny Novgorod region
In the city of Semenov, Nizhny Novgorod Region, on October 8, the 100th anniversary of the Semenov nesting doll will be celebrated. This was reported on the website of the regional government.
On this day, a scientific-practical conference “Honoring traditions. We look to the future.” It will bring together cultural workers, representatives of the scientific field, collectors and lovers of matryoshka dolls from the Nizhny Novgorod region, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Murmansk.
On October 8, the renovated Matryoshka and Traditional Toy Museum will also open in Semyonov. The exhibition areas of the museum have almost doubled, and many new exhibits will be presented there.
So, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Semyonov matryoshka, the exposition “Three nesting dolls – three sisters” will open. It took the craftsmen more than a year and a half to create it. Also, museum visitors will see a photo exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Roman Ivanovich Pchelkin, a man who made a significant contribution to the preservation and development of folk crafts of the Semenov land: Fedoseev, Khokhloma and Semenov murals.
Earlier it was reported that an exhibition of works by the hereditary master of Khokhloma painting, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia Nadezhda Lushina “Windows to the Motherland” opened in Nizhny Novgorod. At the exhibition, the master has collected works that have been made by her in recent years. In addition, the exhibition presents works that were kept in private collections and the collection of the Nizhny Novgorod Museum-Reserve.
