Strawberry greenhouses flooded in Antalya

While the continuous downpour that started in the Çakallık and Kadriye neighborhoods of Serik yesterday evening, negatively affected daily life, some strawberry greenhouses were damaged by flooding.

“It is impossible to harvest from seedlings this year”

Strawberry producer Bayram Gül, who is engaged in farming in Çakallık District, said, “As the rain that has been effective since the night increased its effect during the day, our strawberry greenhouses and planted areas were flooded. With the decrease of the effect of the rain, the water started to recede in our greenhouses. Otherwise, the strawberry seedlings were under water. The strawberry seedlings were flooded. “It is impossible to harvest these seedlings this year because the seedlings are rotting due to excess water,” he said.

Showers in the district are expected to continue into the morning hours.
