Songwriter Svetlana Loboda sued the singer and demanded half a million rubles
Songwriter Ukrainian singer Svetlana Loboda, poet and composer Oleg Vladi sued the singer. It is reported by Komsomolskaya Pravda.
In October last year, the composer had already filed a lawsuit against Channel One in an intellectual property court. Then Vladi, who wrote the hit “To hell with love” for the artist, did not see his name and surname mentioned in the credits of the programs in which this composition was broadcast. The track sounded on the air of “Golden Gramophone”, “Let them talk” and “Tonight”.
The songwriter was advised to go to another instance and Vladi filed a lawsuit against Loboda herself in the Arbitration Court of the Moscow Region. The composer demanded to pay him compensation in the amount of half a million rubles.
“Court hearings can take place without the participation of Loboda, it is enough just to notify her of the case under consideration. Moreover, in the process, the appearance of lawyers or representatives of the singer is not even necessary – the court will make a decision without them. However, it will operate only on the territory of the Russian Federation. Thus, if the author wants to prohibit the artist from performing her song, then Loboda will not be obliged to fulfill this requirement abroad, ”star lawyer Alexei Aleshkin told the publication.
The lawyer added that if the court sided with Vladi, Loboda would have to comply with the demand for compensation to the composer. Otherwise, the accounts and property of the artist in Russia will be arrested.
Earlier, British singer Rick Astley sued American rapper Yung Gravy for imitating his voice in a track.
