Snowfall started in the city center of Istanbul

On the European side, snowfall is effective in Bağcılar, Güngören, Beyoğlu, Beylikdüzü and Silivri.

On the Anatolian side, sleet is seen in Kadıköy, Beykoz, Üsküdar, Ataşehir, Pendik, Kartal and Maltepe.

In the meantime, it was seen that snow-fighting vehicles were kept ready by the roadside in order to avoid disruptions in transportation.

Governor’s Office warned of snow

The Istanbul Governorship announced that the precipitation, which will be seen in the form of rain around Istanbul and sleet in the northern and higher parts, is expected to turn into snow throughout the province as of Monday noon.

It was stated that the Ministry of Interior, Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), metropolitan and district municipalities, all institutions with duties related to security, traffic, health and transportation will be ready to serve on a 24-hour basis.
