Detachments of the Explosives Service have cleared about 1.5 tons of explosives and nearly 85,000 explosive devices since the start of the war with Russia.

This was stated by Deputy Chief of the Explosives Service of the National Police Dmitry Karakurkchi.

“After the liberation of the occupied territories of Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy regions, consolidated detachments of the explosives service were formed, which seized about 85,000 explosive devices, about 1.5 tons of explosives, cleared about 500 hectares of combat areas “, – said Karakurkchi.

According to him, one of the most important tasks is the demining of the Exclusion Zone, Pripyat, etc.

Demining of agricultural lands, which are the most important for sowing works, is carried out on the territory of Bucha and Gostomel territorial communities.

“As for the work of sappers to inspect the territories of the agricultural sector, the work is carried out in accordance with the requests of citizens, in the order determined by the importance of these agricultural lands,” – added the representative of the NPU.

He stressed that it is not possible to carry out any work in the territories not inspected by explosive devices: construction, agricultural, etc. Only after the appropriate permission can you go and do something there.

It should be added that the explosives service of the National Pedagogical University has about 300 people, and almost all its personnel are involved in the work every day.

We will remind, in the Kiev region thousands of square kilometers remain dangerous because of mines.
