Thus, the Russian media of mass propaganda informed that at the conference call Shoigu announced the full control by the Russian army over the settlements of Soledar, Klishchiivka, KrasnopillyaBlagodatne, Mykolaivka in Donetsk region and Pidhirne, Lobkovo in Zaporizhzhia.

The head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation also mentioned about seemingly successful development of hostilities under Bakhmut and Vugledar. At the same time, he emphasized that all “gains” are the result of the actions of the Russian armed forces.

Ukrainian intelligence drew attention to the fact that Shoigu deliberately did not mention the fact that in all the areas named by him, it is the members of the “Wagner” PMC who take an active part in the battles. and the regular Russian army has only an episodic role as a support force.

“This information is hushed up by the Russian propaganda media, which indicates the continuation of the conflict among the military and political leadership of the Russian Federation,” explained the State Department of the Ministry of Defense.

They also reminded that the Ukrainian troops were withdrawn from Soledar on January 25, and the alleged seizure of other settlements by the enemy is currently not confirmed. The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue protection in each of the mentioned directions.

It will be recalled that in mid-January, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin was afraid of the influence of the owner of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin and the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, so he decided to remove them from all channels that were instructed to support the Russian armed forces .

On February 7, analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War also reported that the Kremlin is afraid of Prigozhin’s influence, which is why he continues to be denied legitimacy and power in Russia.
