South Korea accused North Korea on Monday of carrying out a test launch of a ballistic missile that landed in its eastern territorial waters.
The heads of the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff indicated that the launch took place on Tuesday morning, but did not provide further details, such as the distance the missile traveled.
The day before, Pyongyang had declared that it had tested firing two cruise missiles from a submarine.
These North Korean missile launches come after the Armed Forces of the United States and South Korea began, last Monday, their biggest joint maneuvers on the ground in recent years.
