Russia: Ukrainian army not allowed to break through our defense

Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov made statements about the situation on the Donetsk front.

Giving information about the attacks launched by some brigades of the Ukrainian army, Konashenkov said, “On the morning of June 4, the enemy, with the support of other military units, launched a massive attack on the 23rd and 31st Mechanized Brigades from the strategic reserves of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in five areas of the front in the South Donetsk direction.”

Noting that the Ukrainian soldiers consisted of 6 mechanized and 2 tank battalions, Konashenkov stated that the Ukrainian soldiers, who aimed not to break through the defense from the weakest part of the front, could not fulfill their duty.

Sharing the information that the Ukrainian army lost more than 250 soldiers, 16 tanks, 3 infantry vehicles and 21 armored vehicles as a result of the actions of the “Eastern” units of the Russian army, Konashenkov said, “The Chief of General Staff of Russia, Valeriy Gerasimov, who is the Commander of the Joint Forces Group, is also one of the forward command centers in this direction. He was in one of them,” he said.
