In the aftermath of Benfica’s victory against Vizela, Benfica’s coach reacted to the expulsion and highlighted the importance of the triumph in a “very difficult game”.
“It was a very difficult game, as we expected before the game. It is very difficult to play against Vizela. They are brave, they are always good in transitions, at times we also need some luck. It was not a perfect game, but in the end we have to win these games. This one was very difficult. They are games that we have to win, even when we are not balanced in defense, like today, but it was a great victory and a big step for us”, began by saying Roger Schmidt, before commenting on the expulsion.
“I reacted to the provocations of the supporters behind me, which is not allowed. I accept the expulsion and the red card. Each game has its own story. We have to remain calm and be patient in every game. This game was difficult, we will have a game with a different story against Famalicão, but I don’t know if we will have more of these games ahead of us, this is football, each team has its plan, but each game is different”, he concluded.
Benfica won (2-0), this Saturday, against Vizela in a game of the 22nd round of the League. João Mário scored the goals of the match and leads the list of top scorers.
