Forward shone in the sub-23 and has already debuted in the first team.
The conquest of the Revelation Cup by the Arsenalistas was the demonstration that there is a lot of quality in the Minho formation. One of the main young pearls is Rodrigo Macedo, a 19-year-old striker. The striker scored 17 goals and provided an assist for Braga’s under-23s and was one of the drivers behind the victory in the Revelation Cup. The good performances leave the youngster in the pipeline to carry out the pre-season with Artur Jorge so that the coach can assess whether he can count on Rodrigo Macedo for the season.
The footballer already made his debut in the main team, in December, against Paços de Ferreira, in the League Cup. In March, he agreed to renew with Braga until 2026, being shielded by a €30 million release clause.
Rodrigo Macedo can thus follow in the footsteps of Gorby, Rodrigo Gomes, Álvaro Djaló or Roger Fernandes, colleagues trained in Braga and who are constant options in the main squad. The young man has been linked to the Arsenalistas for 15 years and started competing in the club’s escolinhas. He moved up through the youth ranks and spent time on loan at Palmeiras FC. He continued at Minho, adding goals and good performances, and now he can be part of the squad consistently.
