Reported shooting after graduation ceremony at a school in Richmond, Virginia

(CNN) — A shooting was reported outside the Altria Theater in Richmond, Virginia, following a high school graduation ceremony Tuesday afternoon, Richmond Public Schools’ Matthew Stanley reported.

“This happened after the Huguenot High School graduation and it took place in Monroe Park,” Stanley said. “We have canceled a graduation ceremony from another school scheduled for tonight,” he added.

According to the public schools website, graduation ceremonies for three schools were held Tuesday at the Altria Theater.

An alert Virginia Commonwealth University sent out at 5:15 p.m. local time reported that a shooting had occurred in Monroe Park on campus, which is located just outside the Altria Theater.
