The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, is outraged by the court’s too lenient punishment for young rapists.
The prosecutor’s office intends to appeal the court verdict regarding sexual violence against an underage girl in Transcarpathia.

It is noted that the Volovets court in Transcarpathia passed a verdict against three minors for committing sexual violence.
“On March 16, 2023, the Volovetsky District Court of Zakarpattia Oblast passed a verdict in criminal proceedings against three minors for committing sexual violence against a minor. Currently, the verdict, in accordance with the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code, has not entered into force,” the message says.
Due to the strong publicity in the social network, the prosecutor’s office will appeal the verdict in accordance with the procedure established by law.
“The prosecutor’s office will take all measures to protect the rights of the victim and ensure fair and inevitable punishment of those guilty of the crime,” law enforcement officers said.
