In some cities, protesters stormed military buildings.
On Tuesday, May 9, Pakistan’s Anti-Corruption Agency arrested former Prime Minister Imran Khan, accusing him of bribery. The politician’s supporters took to the streets with aggressive protests across the country. As a result of the clashes between the activists and the police, at least one person was killed.

Ahead of his arrest, Khan was reprimanded by the army for repeatedly accusing a senior military officer of allegedly trying to orchestrate his assassination. Also, the ex-prime minister allegedly accused the former commander-in-chief of involvement in his removal from power last year.
Local authorities in three of Pakistan’s four provinces have ordered a ban on all gatherings. Following clashes with police, Khan’s supporters blocked a number of major roads. In some cities, military buildings were stormed.
Earlier we reported that a warehouse with ammunition exploded in Pakistan. As a result, 13 people died, and another 50 were injured.
