The PSD nominated, this Friday, the vice-president of the bench Joaquim Pinto Moreira for president of the eventual commission of constitutional revision and André Coelho Lima, former ‘vice’ of the previous leader, Rui Rio, for coordinator. The PS had already announced that it will nominate former Health Minister Marta Temido as vice-president of the eventual constitutional review commission and will have the parliamentary leader, Eurico Brilhante Dias, as the last substitute on the list.

According to information disclosed by the PSD Parliamentary Group, the vice-coordinator will be the lawyer Mónica Quintela and the ‘deputies’ of the bench Paula Cardoso and Alexandre Poço and the deputies Sara Madruga da Costa, Paulo Moniz and Emília will also be effective in the commission. Cerqueira.

Joaquim Pinto Moreira, lawyer and former mayor of Espinho, is a deputy for the first time in the current legislature, and very close to PSD president Luís Montenegro.

Pinto Moreira today led a parliamentary incident with the President of the Assembly of the Republic, accusing Santos Silva of not being able to “take off the PS shirt” regarding the non-admission of the PSD’s draft resolution that called for a referendum on the decriminalization of euthanasia.

André Coelho Lima, also a lawyer, was vice-president of the party and the bench during the leadership of Rui Rio.

The parliamentary leader Joaquim Miranda Sarmento, the ‘vices’ from the bench Catarina Rocha Ferreira, Clara Marques Mendes and Hugo Oliveira and the deputies Jorge Paulo Oliveira, António Prôa, Cristiana Ferreira and Márcia Passos will be substitutes for the PSD.

The PS had already announced today that it will nominate former Health Minister Marta Temido as vice-president of the eventual constitutional review commission and will have the parliamentary leader, Eurico Brilhante Dias, as the last substitute on the list.

The PS Parliamentary Group chose two constitutionalists for the position of coordinator and vice-coordinator: Pedro Delgado Alves, former leader of the JS and vice-president of the bench; and Isabel Moreira, who is part of the National Secretariat of this party.

Among the 10 members of the PS in this committee, there are six deputies, among them former Minister Alexandra Leitão, Fátima Pinto, Patrícia Faro (representing Socialist Women) and Marta Freitas (representing Madeira), in addition to the aforementioned choices of Marta Temido and Isabel Moreira.

Also part of the staff are António Monteirinho (deputy of a circle from the interior of the country), Sérgio Ávila (representing the Azores) and Francisco Dinis (representing the JS).

Among the 10 alternates, the PS nominated six deputies and four female deputies: Anabela Real, Fátima Fonseca, João Paulo Rebelo, Maria Begonha, Miguel Rodrigues, Nelson Brito, Pedro Cegonho, Romualda Fernandes, Sara Velez, Tiago Estevão Martins and Eurico Brilhante Dias .

The creation of the eventual constitutional review commission will be voted on today in plenary and should take office next week.

The eight parties with parliamentary seats presented constitutional revision projects, after Chega triggered the process with an initiative admitted to the Assembly of the Republic on October 12.
