National boxer Ali Eren Demirezen, in a statement in Balikesir, claimed that the managers and promoters did not give him the necessary value.
Demirezen stated that he has no connection with the federation and continues to work individually.
“We were told from abroad that we had to prove ourselves because we could not get the reward of our efforts at the moment. We have already proven ourselves in the matches we have played so far. We have decided to take a break from boxing right now because we cannot get the reward of our efforts. We get the moral support we need from our people, but they also want to get the financial reward of their human effort. Turkish athletes are always secondary in the eyes of foreigners, connections abroad say we have to prove ourselves. I think I proved it by being in the top 20 in the world rankings.”
Demirezen added that the rumors that he will be a parliamentary candidate about taking a break from boxing are unfounded for now, but he may consider it in the future.
