Military judge who shot to death arrested in Kyiv

In Kyiv, the Chairman of the Makarovsky District Court, Aleksey Tandyr, who shot down to death a serviceman of the National Guard, was arrested. This is reported by the publication “Suspilne” (“Public”).

The judge is suspected of committing an accident while intoxicated, in which a soldier died. The court chose a preventive measure for the defendant in the form of detention until July 21 without the possibility of bail.

Earlier, law enforcement officers detained Aleksey Tandyr. The investigation will be conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) under the procedural leadership of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the State Bureau of Investigation, the judge refused to undergo an examination in the hospital to identify the state of intoxication. The agency added that measures are being taken to forcibly remove biological samples from the driver.
