The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, spoke with the father of the Army soldier who died on Sunday in Campo de Santa Margarida, district of Santarém, “to whom he conveyed heartfelt condolences”.
This information is contained in a published notethis Monday, on the website of the Presidency of the Republic.
The soldier died on Sunday night at Campo Militar de Santa Margarida, in Constância, under circumstances “still to be determined”, confirmed an official Army source to the Lusa agency, after the information was provided by TVI/CNN Portugal.
The Minister of National Defence, Helena Carreiras, has also mourned this death and said that an investigation is underway.
