A woman in a dugout: what is known
The story of Antonina Pashkovska gained a huge resonance after an anonymous person called the services and reported that a woman with a baby lives in a hole on Boichuka Street. Representatives of social services together with the police went there to find out the situation. During the conversation, the woman, who actually lives in the dugout, gave them the child, agreeing that the conditions in the cellar without any communications are a threat to the 5-month-old boy.

The next day, a TSN.ua journalist searched for this hole in the hill on Boichuka Street and talked to the woman. She introduced herself as Antonina Pashkovska, a resident of Kryvyi Rih, and told her story.
“My name is Antonina Pashkovska, I am 36 years old. I come from Kryvyi Rih, I have a total of three children. My eldest daughter, Violeta, is already 13 years old, she lives with her dad abroad, he is a truck driver, so I took her with me after full-scale invasion by the Russians. My middle son, Kirill, is now 6 years old. When he was 2 years old, my stepmother took him from me and gave him to her daughter, who cannot have children. I myself am from an orphanage, I was taken in when I was was 2 years old. Then I was kicked out of the house, my stepmother told me not to return. The youngest, Sashkov, is 5 months old. I gave birth to him in Kyiv on October 10, but not here, but in the maternity hospital. After giving birth, it so happened that I was sent to Poltava, to the home of the mother and child. But I ran away from there, because it’s like a concentration camp there. I stay here for about a week, and in total in Kyiv for about 7 years,” she claimed Antonina.
According to her, she has a husband in Kyiv who lives with her in a dugout, but she has neither housing nor work. When asked whether she would look for a job, the woman did not answer, only clarified that she could do painting work.
“If the child is not returned to me, I will tell you honestly – I will go and hang myself,” Antonina summed up and cried.

Both the social services and the police emphasize that not everything is as clear as this woman tells.
“The woman went to contact, told about her story, said that she ran away from the rehabilitation center from the Poltava region because there is a regime, rules of internal procedure, each member of the team has responsibilities, it was possible to use a mobile phone only during the designated hours. According to the woman, the specialists of the center helped to issue a birth certificate for her newborn son, a declaration with a pediatrician, and examined him. According to experts, the baby (in the dugout – Ed.) was not cared for properly, the child lived in complete unsanitary conditions, the mother did not wash him, but wiped him with wet napkins. The woman said that she was feeding her son baby porridge when she found boiled water that people brought. During a long conversation with the woman and finding ways to solve her problems, she herself said that she did not want and could not continue to raise her son. After a while, she said: “Probably, it will be better for my son” and wrote a statement about the rejection of the child to the head of the district police department and the head of the service for children and families of the Pechersk district state administration in the city of Kyiv,” social services reported.
In addition, social service specialists added that the woman has health problems due to her addiction to alcohol and drugs. The woman herself denies it.
