Leader Napoli won today the visit to Sassuolo (2-0), in the opening match of the 23rd round of the Italian Football League, in what was the seventh consecutive victory in the competition.
At the Mapei Stadium, in Reggio Emilia, the Neapolitan team manufactured the result within the first 45 minutes, thanks to accurate shots by the Georgian Kvaratskhelia, at the 12th minute, and the Nigerian Osimhen, at the 33rd minute, who, already close to the final whistle, left with physical complaints.
The Portuguese international Mário Rui was not used in today’s game, having been among the substitutes.
With this triumph, the team led by Luciano Spalletti comfortably commands Serie A, with 62 points, 18 more than the pursuer and second placed Inter Milan.
Sassuolo is 15th, with 24, the same as Lecce (13th) and Fiorentina (14th), opponent of Sporting de Braga in the Europa Conference League, both with a game to play.
