Foreign Minister Lavrov said that the West is sponsoring color revolutions in the South Caucasus
The West is providing financial support to some non-governmental organizations in the South Caucasus because it is preparing color revolutions, says Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. His words were heard at a press conference following the talks with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, RIA Novosti writes.
Lavrov also accused Western countries of trying to discredit the actions of Russia or Iran.
Following the talks, the Russian side expressed its readiness to assist in unblocking transport communications, delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as agreeing on the parameters of a peace treaty. In addition, Lavrov said that the tripartite statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin, his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan are the key to stabilization in the region.
