The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of the crimes of kidnapping and rape of a 13-year-old boy, on March 28, in Vila do Conde.
In a statement sent to the newsrooms, the PJ explained that the defendant approached the minor “in the vicinity of the educational establishment” that he attends and “convinced him to get into his vehicle and head to an unknown location”.
Then, he intimidated him with a replica of a firearm, “led him to a closed place” and subjected him “to various abusive sexual practices, which he recorded in photography and video”.
About four hours later, he released him at the house, threatening that he would kill him if he told anyone what had just happened.
The PJ also reported that the same crime had been committed on February 9 in Póvoa de Varzim, with another minor, aged 12.
The detainee, who has an extensive criminal record for violent crimes, was present at the first judicial interrogation and was remanded in custody.
