Putin said that the number of cybercrimes in Russia in 2022 exceeded half a million
IT crimes accounted for a quarter of all criminal offenses in Russia in 2022. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin during a speech at an expanded meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he is quoted by RIA Novosti.
“By the end of 2022, the number of such crimes has already exceeded half a million,” the Russian leader noted.
Putin added that the fight against crime using IT technologies is one of the unconditional priorities of the work of the Russian Interior Ministry.
Commenting on the work of the department, the president also noted that the police managed to increase the detection of crimes and improve performance in the fight against extremism.
Earlier it was reported that Putin spoke about plans to create a youth crime prevention program in Russia.
