In Cebike Neighborhood, work continues in the construction of the hospital, where many personnel work on a 24-hour basis in an area of 90 thousand square meters, 20 thousand of which is closed.
In Iskenderun Emergency Hospital, which will have 200 beds, 33 polyclinics, 36 intensive care beds, 7 operating rooms, 6 imaging rooms, MRI, tomography, full-range laboratories, bronchoscopy, 2 endoscopy, 6 physical therapy and rehabilitation, 3 oncology centers and CVC units are planned.
There will be approximately 850 health personnel and 7 operating theaters in the hospital.
Provincial Health Director Tunga Barçın said that Iskenderun Emergency Hospital will serve citizens in all branches.
Stating that they are working for the citizens of Hatay to receive the best health service, Barçın said:
“After the earthquake, Defne State Hospital with 300 beds started to provide health services in Hatay. The 400-bed Training and Research Hospital will also start providing health services in a very short time. Our Iskenderun Emergency Hospital with 200 beds in Iskenderun is currently under construction, and it is the shortest. With nearly 850 health personnel and 7 operating theaters, a fully-equipped imaging center suitable for modern medicine, it will soon begin to provide health services.”

Patient referrals out of the province decreased
Barçın underlined that there is no inadequacy in the provision of health services to citizens in Hatay.
Emphasizing that the number of patient referrals out of the province has also decreased, Barçın said, “After the opening of Defne State Hospital with 300 beds, patients are admitted intensively from both the city center and other districts. It provides service with an average of more than 2,000 polyclinics per day. After the 400-bed Training and Research Hospital was opened. We think that our shipments outside the province will decrease significantly now,” he said.

Barçın stated that it is planned to build a 1000-bed Training and Research Hospital in Antakya and a 600-bed state hospital in Iskenderun in a short time.
