The districts of Faro, Beja and Évora will be under yellow warning from Sunday morning due to the forecast of heavy rain, announced this Saturday the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
According to the IPMA, the yellow warning starts at 3 am on Sunday in Faro and Beja, then extends further north, to Évora, from 12 am. The warnings are in effect in the three districts until 9 pm.
Weather forecasts point to the possibility of “showers, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms and strong gusts, which could be in the form of hail”, says the institute.
The yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
