According to the news in The Verge, ads are coming to Instagram’s search results.
Roofing company Meta has started placing a few ads on the results page to try out the new format.
The tech giant confirmed in its latest Instagram blog post that it has begun allowing businesses to promote their products, content and accounts in search results.
While the new ad format is still in the testing phase, the social media service plan says it’s considering launching it worldwide “in the coming months.”
Until then, users may see more ads when searching for something.
Results promoted on Instagram, such as ads in Google search, will have a “Sponsored” tag to distinguish them from regular results.
