In the Nizhny Novgorod region, cases of poisoning with surrogate alcohol were recorded

The first cases of surrogate alcohol poisoning were recorded in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Governor of the region David Melik-Guseinov announced this on his Telegram channel.

“The first cases of surrogate alcohol poisoning appeared in our region. There are deaths,” he wrote.

Melik-Huseinov urged to refrain from drinking any alcoholic beverages, whose origin is unknown. He stressed that draft alcohol and cider are of particular danger.

The governor also urged the owners of cafes and restaurants to check the origin of the ingredients of multi-component cocktails, and in case of doubt, stop using them and report to Rospotrebnadzor.
