Opposition blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov, a critic of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, who lived in Sweden, was shot dead.
In Sweden, unknown persons killed a well-known critic of the Chechen government, blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov.
The information about this was “confirmed by his associates,” writes the Telegram channel Radio Svoboda.
In addition, human rights activists informed that his brother Muhammad Abdurakhmanov had also disappeared.
According to the agency, information appeared on the evening of December 2 that Abdurakhmanov has not been in touch for more than a day. The day before, on December 1, messages about his alleged murder began to appear on social networks.
The blogger’s last entry in his Telegram channel was published on November 30.
There is no official information on this. Swedish law enforcement officers have not yet commented on the alleged murder of the critic Kadyrov.
Tumso Abdurakhmanov known for his criticism of the Chechen government. In 2015, he left Russia after he had a conflict with relatives of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. In Chechnya, Abdurakhmanov is accused of ties to the Islamic State.
In 2020 and 2021, an attempt was already made on the lives of Abdurakhmanov and his brother Muhammed. In December 2021, Tumso Abdurakhmanov reported that nine of his relatives had been kidnapped in Chechnya.
On October 6, 2021, Tumso Abdurakhmanov was officially granted political asylum in Sweden. On his YouTube channel, he talks about human rights violations in Chechnya and interviews opposition activists.
