Other passengers noticed that she was reading a book in Ukrainian, so they “surrendered” the woman to the police.
In Russia, people are detained for reading books in Ukrainian. The story of Ella, a 34-year-old Muscovite who read a book in Ukrainian on the plane, tells Russian Telegram channel “Caution, news”.
The woman flew on the “Moscow — Vladikavkaz” flight. Other passengers noticed that she was reading a book in Ukrainian and reported it to the police.
“Those present in the cabin of the plane thought that Ella was behaving strangely: she often asks the flight attendants for water, uses the restroom too regularly, and also reads a book in Ukrainian. The suspicious passenger was reported to the head of the airport, who – to the police,” the report says.
During the landing, the Russian security forces were already waiting for the girl near the plane’s ramp. Ella was taken to the department for consideration. During the search, they also found Ukrainian badges and stickers on her jacket, backpack and phone. The woman was threatened with punishment for “discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.”
We will remind that in the spring of this year, security forces detained a man in Moscow. He was scolded by passengers who allegedly saw Ukrainian symbols on his phone.
Earlier it was reported that in the Russian Federation the school director wrote a denunciation because of a child’s pigtails “in the colors of the flag of Ukraine”.
It was also reported that in Moscow, law enforcement officers sent a fifth-grader to the department because of an avatar with yellow and blue colors, and also came to the family’s home to search.
