On the eve of a new day of mobilization against the pension reform at the call of the unions, several processions are planned in France. Demonstrators who will brandish signs, flags or even caps! >> Inter-union mobilization of June 6: “A message will be sent to the government but also to employers: you cannot do things this way”
Frédéric Pommé, who has run the CGT store in Montreuil for 25 years, was robbed: his 900 caps at 9 euros each left in two days. It was he who imagined this headgear, flocked with the scintillating initials of the union. “It’s the goal that it’s flashy, that it gets noticed, that’s his job”he explains. “My wife had a rhinestone cap, so I thought ‘why not’. I asked a supplier if they could find us some and so we created it.” The goal: to rejuvenate the union’s image.
“For women, there was not much in terms of items in the shop. And then with the enthusiasm around the pension reform, we exploded all the numbers!”

Proof of success: Frédéric Pommé has even just recommended 5,000 more! “It’s very good, it proves that I do my job well”, he laughs. Nevertheless, this sparkly cap is made in China, “to have such a low price, we have to… But hey, that’s the only small inconvenience we have”he justifies himself.
Not enough to cool Jennie, an employee who already owns a CGT rhinestone cap. “They look ‘young’, I take them out on demonstrations and it’s all the rage!”, she says. And this customer who has just purchased the latest caps from the official store adds: “The girlfriends all wanted one, it’s essential for the demonstration!”
