China and Honduras intend to develop relations between states based on mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The leadership of Honduras decided to break diplomatic relations with Taiwan and establish them with the People’s Republic of China under the leadership of the Communist Party.
This is stated in the message Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
The message states that State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang and Honduran Foreign Minister Eduardo Reina signed the relevant Joint Communiqué in Beijing.
“The People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Honduras, in accordance with the interests and wishes of the two peoples, have decided to recognize each other and establish diplomatic relations at the level of ambassadors, effective from the date of signing this communique,” the document reads.
In addition, the document states that China and Honduras intend to develop relations between states based on mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, non-interference in each other’s internal affairs, equality, mutual benefit and peaceful coexistence.
“The Government of the Republic of Honduras recognizes that there is only one China in the world, that the Government of the People’s Republic of China is the only legitimate government representing the whole of China, and that Taiwan is an integral part of China’s territory. The Government of the Republic of Honduras is terminating “diplomatic relations” with Taiwan as of this date and undertakes not to develop any further official relations or official exchanges with Taiwan,” the communique stated.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that a missing Taiwanese military man who served in a unit on an island off the Chinese coast was found on the territory of the People’s Republic of China. Everything points to the fact that he left the country and went over to the side of China.
In addition, we previously reported that the president of Taiwan last fall warned that China’s invasion of Taiwan may happen in the near future.
