There are more than 350 granaries in the high rock mass consisting of clayey limestone in the village. It is known that the warehouses were carved by hand starting from the first Byzantine period until the Republican period, and the warehouses close to the ground were used as residences until recently. There are warehouses with 2 or 3 rooms on the ground floors.
Niches carved into granaries with a history of about a thousand years are used as steps. Grain is brought to the warehouses with doors of 50 to 60 square centimeters made of juniper wood, with ropes attached to the pulleys above the doors.
Since the temperature and humidity are at the same level in all seasons, the warehouses, where grains can be stored for a century, attract the attention of photography enthusiasts with their visuality.
Taşkale Granary, which is one of the rare places where hundreds of caves are carved into a steep hillside, attracts tourists from all over the world.
The Manazan Caves, on the other hand, are located on the side of the Karaman-Yeşidere Taşkale road, in the east of Yeşildere Valley stretching between Yeşildere and Taşkale villages.
The caves are in the form of five-storey collective dwellings carved entirely by human hands on a high rock mass.
The first two floors consist of many cell-shaped chambers in the east-west direction. The other floors carved into the high rock mass in the middle are called Kum Castle, Horse Square and Dead Square, respectively.
Since the front of the caves has been destroyed as a result of natural events, there is no obvious entrance. There are many burial chambers in the form of gullies on the first floor. In addition, some of the rooms were found to be chapels.
Although there is no data to reveal exactly when the caves were carved, it is understood from the small finds that the caves were carved and settled in the 6th and 7th centuries during the Byzantine period.
The body of a young girl, which is estimated to be approximately 1400 years old and exhibited in the Karaman Museum, was found in this region during road works in the past and was taken under protection.
