The Regional Health Administration of Lisbon and Tagus Valley (ARSLVT) guaranteed, this Thursday, that all gynecology and obstetrics services in the region are operating “within normality”, according to a statement sent to newsrooms.
According to the same note, the gynecology and obstetrics emergencies at Centro Hospitalar Barreiro Montijo (CHBM) will be closed between 9 pm on Thursday and 9 am on Friday. “In this case, pregnant women must go/will be referred to other units of the National Health Service (SNS) network, namely the Centro Hospitalar de Setúbal (CHS) and Hospital Garcia de Orta (HGO), as well as for maternity hospitals in the city of Lisbon”, reads the statement.
ARSLVT also recalls that, in the coming days, there may be limitations in some hospitals, which may, at a certain period of the day, activate the CODU/INEM diversion. “Hospitals that, for transitory periods, trigger the CODU diversion keep the internal urgency in operation, responding to those who go there by their means. In this case, pregnant women transported by CODU/INEM will be referred to other units in the Region, which will ensure the response and network operation”, he concludes.
