Eurovision songs are usually short-lived hits, hammering away for a weekend and then falling into oblivion. But there are some exceptions. We have located 1,200 songs that have participated in the contest, from 1956 to last year, to answer one question: which ones are still playing on Spotify?
platform streaming assesses the popularity of each song, taking into account the total number of listeners and their trend. Of all the Eurovision songs, the most successful, by far, is Arcadianby Duncan Laurencewho won the contest in 2019. On a scale of 0 to 100, she has a popularity rating of 79, which places her at the level of Candy either Saokoby Rosalía, and ahead of the most popular hits by the Beatles or the Rolling Stones.
In it top five are accompanied by other recent songs and an older Spanish song, but one that you will surely remember: dance glued, by Sergio Dalma. Among the hundreds of songs that have gone through Eurovision, it is the fifth most successful on Spotify. With a popularity rating of 61, he is at the level of Bad womanfrom C. Tangana.
We have included the most popular 250 of the 1,200 that we have found on Spotify. They are not all the participants, because some of the oldest are not available on the platform, but it is a fairly complete sample.
