The club announced in a press release on Tuesday that it would also lay off its two assistants Pascal Baills and Frédéric Mendy as a precaution.

The coaching waltz continues in Ligue 1. Montpellier announced in a statementTuesday, February 7, have “laid off as a precaution” his trainer Romain Pitau. The Montpellier coach is now the tenth coach laid off this season in Ligue 1. The Hérault club also indicates that his assistants Pascal Baills and Frédéric Mendy have been removed from the professional group. The club’s president, Laurent Nicollin, will hold a press conference on Wednesday at 3 p.m. to comment on the club’s situation.

Fifteenth in the standings with only two points ahead of the red zone, the MHSC have won only two games (2-0 victory in Lorient on December 29 and against Auxerre on January 29) for six defeats in their last eight met. Assistant to Olivier Dall’Oglio until his dismissal in mid-October, Romain Pitau was appointed interim coach before being permanently promoted to head of the main team in mid-November.
