Fisherman dies in cliff fall in Aljezur

A fisherman died today following a fall from a cliff on Monte Clérigo beach, Aljezur municipality, Faro district, a Civil Protection source told Lusa.

The Algarve Sub-regional Command said that the alert for the incident was given at 18.40 hours, for the fall of a man who was fishing on a cliff.

After emergency services arrived, the man’s body was recovered and death was declared on the spot, he added.

On site were means of the National Maritime Authority, the Firefighters of Aljezur and GNR, a total of 21 operational, supported by nine vehicles.
