A fire in an eight-story building, in Barreiro, Setúbal, forced the evacuation of residents from the building today, with three people being rehoused in family homes, a Civil Protection source told Lusa.
According to a source from the Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of the Setúbal Peninsula, the alert for the fire, which occurred in a building located in the Union of Parishes of Barreiro and Lavradio, was given at 20.37 hours.
Following the fire, which occurred in one of the units, three people were relocated to relatives, with the remaining residents of the building having already returned to their homes.
The same source, who indicated that the fire was extinguished by 20.53 hours, added that three people were assisted at the scene due to smoke inhalation.
In fighting the flames, 29 operators were involved, including PSP agents, assisted by nine vehicles.
