There will be a classic in the League Cup final. FC Porto easily beat Académico de Viseu by 3-0, with goals from Eustaquio, Namaso and Bernardo Folha, to guarantee their presence in the final of the competition, where they will face Sporting. It is the fifth time that the dragons reach the final of this competition, having never managed to win.
The dragons entered the field at full throttle and never took their foot off the accelerator. After just seven minutes, Stephen Eustaquio opened the scoring through a pass from Gabriel Veron and continued to create dangerous opportunities near the Académico de Viseu goal, with emphasis on a header by Pepe against the post. The team coached by Jorge Costa still approached the dragons’ area, but with little danger.
The second half started with two goals missed by Otávio, in the same play, but the second goal would come later. Danny Namaso extended the scoring in the 66th minute, with João Mário assisting the Englishman. The dragons managed the pace of the game, managing to create several opportunities. The third goal was a debut, scored by Bernardo Folha, who scored for the first time in the senior team for the Porto players.
With this victory, FC Porto will join Sporting in the League Cup final, which will be played on Saturday, the 28th, at 7.45 pm, at Estádio Municipal de Leiria.
