Fado singer Beatriz Felício won this Sunday the New Talents Ageas Award, announced the Casa da Música.
The fourth edition of this award, whose winner is chosen by the public, took place this Sunday at Casa da Música, in Porto, with the performance of the three finalist artists: harpist Maria Sá Silva and fado singers Beatriz Felício and José Geadas.
In the performance, Beatriz Felício was accompanied by Rui Poço (Portuguese guitar), João Domingos (viola) and Diogo Alexis (bass).
In a meeting of the three finalists with the press, last week, Beatriz Felício explained that since she was a child she was enchanted with the world of music, having participated in some television programs, such as “Uma Canção Para Ti” (2011), “Grande Fado”, “The Voice Portugal” (2015) and “Festival da Canção” (2017).
Aged 21 and graduated in Psychology, Beatriz Felício counts, among her musical references, names such as Amália Rodrigues, Fernanda Maria, Teresa Tarouca, Lucília do Carmo, Ana Moura and Carminho.
The Ageas New Talents Award is a partnership between the Ageas Portugal Group and the Casa da Música Foundation and aims to distinguish and encourage the work of young musicians up to the age of 35, of all musical genres, in the areas of creation, interpretation and/or stage performance.
The prize has a monetary value of 5,000 euros.
