Explosion sounds heard in Kiev – Breaking News

After 04:20 local time in Kiev, there were repeated explosions.

Yesterday, after 04.50 local time, there were consecutive explosions in the cities of Kharkov, Kramatorsk, Mariupol, Mykolaiv and Odessa, as well as Kiev.

Especially while many explosions were taking place in Kiev, sirens sounded in the city.

While some civilians were trying to leave the city, others took shelter in subway stations and basements of their houses, and queues formed in front of banks and pharmacies.

“They want to destroy Ukraine politically”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on Facebook that the Ukrainian army managed to protect almost the entire country.

Reminding that they recaptured the Hostomel Airport from the Russian forces, Zelenskiy said, “This gives confidence to the capital. According to leading data, we lost 137 of our heroes and citizens. Soldiers and civilians.”

Zelenskiy said that they continued their work by staying in the government center and said, “According to the information we received, the enemy has set me as the number one target. My family is the number two target. They want to destroy Ukraine politically by destroying the president.”

Explaining that the Russian sabotage units were in Kiev, Zelenskiy said, “Enemy sabotage groups have entered Kiev. Therefore, I ask the people of Kiev, be careful, follow the curfew rules.”

Mobilization declared

President of Ukraine Zelensky signed the decree declaring general mobilization throughout the country.

According to the decree shared by the Ukrainian Presidency, the mobilization will cover 90 days from its entry into force.

It was explained that the mobilization decision was taken within the scope of the proposal of the National Defense and Security Council to strengthen the country’s defense due to Russia’s military action.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will determine how many people will be recruited as part of the mobilization.
