An unpopular pension reform that is reflected in the polls. The popularity rating of the Head of State fell to 28% satisfied on Sunday March 19, falling below the symbolic bar of 30%, according to an Ifop poll published in The Sunday newspaper (paid item). Another symbol: his popularity rating is now lower than that of his Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne (29%). This survey was carried out before the use of 49.3 by the government on Thursday.

This popularity is the lowest since the end of the “yellow vests” crisis in 2019. “It’s a very bad streak for the couple executive”analyzes the director general of Ifop, Frédéric Dabi, with the JDDadding that “for the first time, the presidential base of the first round is reached”. The popularity of Emmanuel Macron thus fell by 7 points at his constituents from 10 April 2022, date of the first round, with 76% satisfied, underlines the weekly.
