Eight people died in snow avalanches this weekend in Austria.
Austrian authorities confirmed, this Sunday, the death of five people in avalanches in the western part of the country, after three deaths were reported on Saturday, despite calls for caution in the practices of activities in ski resorts.
The eight deaths come at a time when resorts are full, during the February school holidays in Vienna, with the avalanche alert level at four on a scale of five, following several days of intense snow and wind.
