Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic surpasses German Steffi Graf, who led the world rankings for 377 weeks.
Nuno Borges rose to 85th place in the world tennis ranking, the best ranking ever, in a list updated this Monday and in which the Serbian Novak Djokovic set a new absolute record of 378 weeks at the top.
Even without competing since the Australian Open – which he won -, Djokovic remained at the top of the ranking, becoming the tennis player with the most weeks in charge of the ranking on the professional circuits, with 378, surpassing the German Steffi Graf ( 377).
Djokovic continues to be closely followed by Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, in second place, who could have equaled the Serbian had he won the final of the tournament in Rio de Janeiro (lost to Britain’s Cameron Norrie), followed by Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas and Norwegian Casper Ruud, third and fourth in the hierarchy, respectively.
When Nuno Borges, one day after winning the Monterrey tournament, climbed 18 positions in the ranking to 85th, surpassing his best position in the world hierarchy, the 91st position reached in November 2022.
