The Disciplinary Council (CD) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) revealed, this Thursday, that it had initiated proceedings against FC Porto’s SAD, Matheus Reis and several blue and white officials due to incidents in the game with Sporting.
In a statement, the CD points out that the process concerns facts that occurred in the FC Porto-Sporting match, on the 22nd round of the Liga Portugal, which ended in a 2-2 draw, and results from the convolution of investigation process no. 2021/2022, introduced on February 15, 2022″.
According to the CD, “the process was sent, on May 17, 2022, to the Instructors Committee of the Portuguese Professional Football League, with advertising excluded until the end of the instruction”.
At issue are attacks on the Sporting footballer Matheus Reis, carried out by employees of the maintenance of static advertising at Estádio do Dragão, the so-called blue vests.
According to the newspaper Record, among the names mentioned, João Sousa, Ricardo Carvalho and Carlos Carvalho are directors of FC Porto, linked to the field and security direction, while Manuel Silva, Cláudio Filipe Nova and Carlos Elias are employees of a company hired by the dragons.
On March 19, defender Matheus Reis was suspended for one game, following the investigation into the incidents of FC Porto-Sporting, after which teammate Tabata and Porto FC Pepe were suspended for 23 days.
