Couple arrested for car thefts in Póvoa, Vila do Conde and Matosinhos

A man and a woman, aged 31 and 33, respectively, were arrested by the GNR, in Porto, when they were driving a stolen car. The couple is suspected of several robberies in Via do Conde, Póvoa de Varzim and Matosinhos.

The arrest, released this Tuesday by the GNR, was carried out by the Matosinhos Criminal Investigation Nucleus, as part of an investigation, which lasted about three months, for various crimes of theft that occurred in the municipalities of Vila do Conde, Matosinhos and Póvoa de Varzim.

The military carried out several steps that culminated in the arrest of the suspects when they were in possession of a vehicle that had been stolen in the city of Braga. It was also found that the couple broke car windows to steal documents and bank cards.
