Coldplay made a dedication on Wednesday to singer Tina Turner during a concert in Barcelona, Spain. The artist died at the age of 83 in Switzerland.
The news of Tina Turner’s death was released about an hour before Coldplay took the stage at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, where the first 50,000 people of the 200,000 who will attend their concerts in that venue until Sunday were waiting for them.
During the concert, while Chris Martin sang “The Scientist” on the piano, the Coldplay frontman stopped the music, saying: “This entire show is dedicated to the beautiful Tina Turner”.
Later, Coldplay even improvised an acoustic version of “Proud Mary”, one of Tina Turner’s biggest hits.
