The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the installation of air defense systems on the roofs of administrative buildings in Moscow.
The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces called the situation with the installation of the Pantsir-S1 air defense system on the roofs of Moscow administration buildings “funny”.
This opinion was expressed by the spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat na briefing January 27.
He said that installing air defense systems on the roofs of buildings “looks funny.” Ignat noted that the Russian “Pantsir-S1” is an anti-aircraft gun complex that includes both missiles and anti-aircraft installations. According to Ignat, the purpose of such systems is to shoot down drones, in particular strike drones.
“We understand why Russia is installing them there. Actually, they are afraid that something will fly there, some kind of “cotton” from an unknown source,” said the spokesman of the Air Force.
At the same time, according to Ignat, there is a practice of installing anti-aircraft systems on roofs in the world, but they do it not as barbarically as in Russia.
“Russia followed this, clumsy method, as they say, and put the entire installation with caterpillars on the roof. The second point – the effectiveness of the systems from such great heights is also questionable. Because if something can fly, then it can simply fly lower than it stands “Pantsir “. Therefore, it is clear that this has the greatest effect on the population, which may be being prepared for mobilization,” Ignat explained.
We will remind you that at the beginning of January, “Pantsir-S1” anti-aircraft missile systems appeared on the roofs of buildings in the center of Moscow. Later, it became clear that they are aimed at protecting Vladimir Putin and his relatives from a theoretical Ukrainian attack.
In particular, according to analysts, three complexes installed on the roofs of Moscow protect the territory in the middle of which the Kremlin is located.
