The mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, considered, this Saturday, that there is good news about the health of Pope Francis, expressing his conviction of the presence of the Argentine pontiff in Portugal for the World Youth Day.
The mayor spoke to journalists during a visit, at the end of the morning, to Parque Tejo – Lisbon, the space where the World Youth Day (WYD) will take place from August 1 to 6 and which today, Portugal Day, opened its doors to the public.
“The Pope is improving. The news is good”, said Carlos Moedas, referring that, as the auxiliary bishop of Lisbon, Américo Aguiar, said, “there is only one plan, which is ‘Plan F’, the Francisco plan, and Pope Francis will come to Lisbon”.
“We will have a great Youth Day here and that is what we are working on. We are not working on any other scenario”, reinforced Carlos Moedas.
Parque Tejo – Lisbon is open to the public today, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, to allow the population to visit the space that will host the WYD in August.
The initiative takes place less than two months before the World Youth Day, which takes place between August 1st and 6th and will have the main events in the Tejo-Trancão Park, on land in the municipalities of Lisbon and Loures, on the riverside of the Tagus.
